Energy Facility Siting Council to Meet March 18 in Salem

A proposed wind farm in north central Oregon will be the focus of discussion at the next Energy Facility Siting Council meeting on March 18. The meeting is open to the public and begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Oregon Department of Energy, 625 Marion St. NE, in Salem.

The main items on the Council’s agenda include:

  • Saddle Butte Wind Park (Gilliam and Morrow counties): The Council will continue its January 21-22 exceptions hearing on the Hearing Officer’s Proposed Contested Case Order. This action item will begin with consideration of subsequent motions from the applicant and from Irene Gilbert.
  • Shepherds Flat North (Gilliam County): The Council will make a decision to approve or deny the site certificate holder’s request to change the issuer and form of financial assurance for the wind facility.
  • Shepherds Flat Central (Gilliam and Morrow counties): The Council will make a decision to approve or deny the site certificate holder’s request to change the issuer and form of financial assurance for the wind facility.
