SALEM — Project updates on a planned transmission line and proposed amendments to an ethanol plant near Boardman and a wind farm in north Sherman County will be the focus of the next Energy Facility Siting Council meeting on Friday, May 20.
The meeting will be held at Boardman City Hall, 200 City Center Circle, in Boardman. The meeting, which is open to the public, is expected to begin at 9:15 a.m. The Council will hold an executive session, which is not open to the public, at 8:00 a.m.
The main items on the Council’s agenda include:
- Project updates: Staff will update the Council on three specific projects – Boardman to Hemingway Transmission Line, Columbia Ethanol Project request for amendment, and Golden Hills Wind Project request for amendment.
- South Dunes Power Plant (Coos County): The Council will consider a request for reconsideration from the Oregon Coast Alliance. The Alliance is asking the Council to reverse its previous decision, which denied the Alliance party status in the contested case.
- Rulemaking: Staff will ask the Council to initiate rulemaking and form a rulemaking advisory committee to evaluate and update its carbon dioxide standards.
