Energy Facility Siting Council to meet August 7 in Coos Bay

SALEM — A review of the proposed South Dunes Power Plant is scheduled for discussion at the next Energy Facility Siting Council meeting on August 7. The meeting is open to the public and begins at 8 a.m. at the Red Lion Hotel, 1313 N. Bayshore Dr., in Coos Bay.

The main items on the Council’s agenda include: • South Dunes Power Plant (Coos County): The Council will receive a presentation on the proposed project and review the Draft Proposed Order submitted by Oregon Department of Energy staff. • Summit Ridge Wind Farm (Wasco County): The Council will consider staff’s recommendation to adopt modified findings for Amendment 1 of the Site Certificate and deny reconsideration for a contested case. • Greater Sage Grouse Rulemaking Update: The Council will receive an overview of the rulemaking efforts by the Land Conservation and Development Commission and the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission related to greater sage grouse protection.
