Home Energy Performance Score Stakeholder Panel to Meet February 1

SALEM — Oregonians are getting closer to having a standardized home energy performance scoring system, which is expected to benefit prospective home buyers and realtors, among others. The Home Energy Performance Score Stakeholder Panel will meet Monday, February 1 in Portland. The public meeting starts at 9 a.m. at the Portland State Office Building, 800 NE Oregon St.

The panel has been meeting over the past year to develop recommendations on how to give Oregonians reliable, standardized information about residential homes’ energy use. Panel members include energy efficiency experts, utilities, home builders, and home appraisers.

At the February meeting, the panel will discuss energy reporting and how to ensure that information shared with Oregon homeowners and renters is consistent across scoring systems for predicting a home’s energy usage.
