Energy Facility Siting Council to Meet April 21 in Clatskanie
SALEM — The proposed expansion of a natural gas facility in northwest Oregon will be the focus of the next Energy Facility Siting Council meeting on Thursday, April 21, 2016. The Council will hold an executive session at 8:30 a.m., which is closed to the public. The regular meeting, which is open to the public, is expected to begin at 10:15 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Clatskanie People’s Utility District, 495 E. Columbia River Hwy., in Clatskanie.
The main items on the Council’s agenda include:
- Mist Underground Gas Storage Facility (Columbia County): The Council will consider a request for amendment from the site certificate holder, Northwest Natural Gas. The amendment request calls for expanding the site boundary, developing a new underground reservoir, and building a pipeline from that reservoir to the Port Westward Industrial Park. The Council will also consider a request for a contested case proceeding on a proposed order issued on Feb. 5, 2016.
- Electric and Magnetic Field Committee: The Council will receive a briefing on the history and role of this committee and decide if it should start the committee back up.
- Executive Session: The Council will begin the meeting in executive session. Discussion items include the Saddle Butte Wind Park and the Electric and Magnetic Field Committee.
