Cooking Without Gas: National Drive Electric Week

September 10-18, 2016 is National Drive Electric Week, a week to celebrate and heighten awareness for electric, plug-in vehicles. Electric vehicles, also known as zero-emissions vehicles, produce far fewer harmful greenhouse gas emissions than traditional fuel cars. Electric models are becoming more widely available – and more affordable. Whether you’re looking for a car, truck, or even a motorcycle, there are electric options out there for you!

Still on the fence? National Drive Electric Week partners are hosting events across the country. Here in Oregon, you could even take an electric car for a free test drive in Wilsonville this weekend!

Volts, Sparks, and LEAFs, oh my.

The Oregon Department of Energy has incentive programs for Oregonians interested in alternative fuel vehicles. Homeowners or renters could qualify for a tax credit if they install alternative fuel vehicle infrastructure at home, such as an electric wall charger.

Organizations, such as businesses or nonprofits, could qualify for a tax credit for installing alternative fuel infrastructure or for purchasing or modifying alternative fuel vehicle fleets.
