Energy Facility Siting Council To Meet March 22 In Salem

SALEM — Two wind farms planned for north central Oregon will be the main topics on the agenda at the next Oregon Energy Facility Siting Council meeting on Friday, March 22 in Salem. The public meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Oregon Department of Energy, 550 Capitol St. NE.

The main items on the Council’s agenda:

·         Montague Wind Power Facility (Gilliam County): The Council will receive an update from Oregon Department of Energy staff on the construction status of Phase 1 of the facility, which includes 56 wind turbines and related or supporting facilities. Staff will also provide an update on results of wildlife and habitat surveys.

·         Summit Ridge Wind Farm (Wasco County): The Council will continue its review – initiated at its last meeting – of the Draft Proposed Order on Request for Amendment 4 of the site certificate, and of comments received on the record of the draft proposed order public hearing. Request for Amendment 4 seeks Council approval to extend the construction start and completion deadlines by two years.

·         Climate Trust Presentation: The Trust will present to the Council its five-year report.

The next Council meeting is tentatively scheduled for May 16-17 at a site to be determined.
