SALEM — The Oregon Global Warming Commission will meet Thursday, January 30, 2020. Registration will begin at 12:45 p.m., and the public meeting will be held from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the Plaza Conference Room, World Trade Center, 121 SW Salmon Street, Portland OR 97201.

A listen-only call-in line will be available for those who cannot attend the meeting. Please call 1-888-204-5984, then use access code 1763644. Please be sure to mute your telephone line during the meeting and do not place the line on hold, as it will cause hold music to play for all participants.

The Commission is expecting that the Governor and the Oregon Legislature will again take up the question of a state carbon cap during the short 2020 session. As complement to this legislative agenda, the Commission will be considering and making recommendations on complementary policies and actions to sustain and extend the state’s carbon reduction efforts, and adoption of long-deferred and more systematic adaptation measures. The Commission is devoting its January 30 meeting to consideration of needed climate change adaptation and preparation planning, including anticipation of possible climate migration concerns.

No resolutions are expected to be introduced or voted on at this meeting.

There will be a public comment opportunity beginning at approximately 4 p.m. A final agenda will be available 24 hours before this meeting at www.keeporegoncool.org/meetings.

If you need special accommodations to participate in the meeting, please contact Linda Ross at 503-378-6874 or at linda.ross@oregon.gov.
