Oregon Global Warming Commission to Meet Virtually on July 28

SALEM — The Oregon Global Warming Commission will meet Tuesday, July 28, 2020. The public meeting will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. online.
The meeting will focus on discussion of Agency Implementation Plans related to Executive Order 20-04, particularly regarding land use, natural resources, and health. The Commission will discuss plans submitted by the Oregon Department of Forestry, Department of Agriculture, Department of Land Conservation and Development, Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the Oregon Health Authority. The Department of Environmental Quality will also provide an overview of its work on consumption and materials management for the Commission discussion.
At this meeting, the Commission is expected to vote on actions related to the Commission’s outline of the 2020 Biennial Report to the Legislature and on its scope of work and principles for meeting the objectives in Executive Order 20-04, with an emphasis on development of a proposal for adoption of state goals for carbon sequestration and storage by Oregon’s natural and working landscapes.
