Energy Facility Siting Council to Meet June 25

SALEM — The next regularly scheduled meeting of Oregon’s Energy Facility Siting Council will be held virtually Friday, June 25, 2021. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday morning and is expected to conclude at approximately 2:15 that afternoon.

The main items on the Council’s agenda are:

Madras Solar Energy Facility Final Order (Action Item) – Staff will present the Proposed Order on the Application for Site Certificate for the Madras Solar Energy Facility, a proposed 63 megawatt solar energy generation facility, to be located in Jefferson County. Council will review changes from the Draft Proposed Order to the Proposed Order, and the conclusion of the contested case. Following the presentation, Council will either approve or amend the Proposed Order as the Final Order and issue a site certificate, or will reject the Proposed Order and deny a site certificate.

Annual Siting Division Work Plan (Information Item) – Staff will present the draft 2021-22 Siting Division Work Plan which includes recommended process improvement projects and activities.

Oregon Renewable Energy Siting Assessment (Information Item) – Staff will provide Council with an overview and status update of the grant awarded to ODOE and the Department of Land Conservation and Development to collect data and information through assessments and a mapping tool to build an understanding of the opportunities and constraints that come with renewable energy and transmission in Oregon.\

There will also be an opportunity for public comment.
