Oregon Global Warming Commission to Meet Virtually on November 17
Contact: Catherine Macdonald, OGWC Chair, 503-475-6782
SALEM – The Oregon Global Warming Commission will meet Friday, November 17, 2023. The public meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. online.
At this meeting, the Commission will discuss the Institute for Natural Resources (INR) Final Report: Foundational Elements to Advance the Oregon Global Warming Commission’s Natural and Working Lands Proposal. The INR Final Report represents the culmination of a year-long, grant-funded project that will help inform the Commission’s natural and working lands work moving forward.
As part of the project, INR was asked to establish and facilitate a Natural and Working Lands Advisory Committee; develop a methodology to inventory net carbon capture in Oregon’s natural and working lands; develop climate-smart management practices and help establish activity-based baselines for them; define the scope of work for a workforce and training needs analysis; identify community impact metrics; and produce a final report.
The agenda and meeting information, including how to listen in, is available on the Commission’s website.
As always, public comments may be submitted through the Commission's contact form online or by email. Members of the public will also have an opportunity to sign up during the meeting to make oral comments. The Commission welcomes written comments on next steps related to the INR Final Report through December 1, 2023.
If you need special accommodations to participate in the meeting, please contact Zachariah Baker at 503-510-8133 or zachariah.baker@energy.oregon.gov. The meeting will be recorded and posted for those who are not able to attend.
