Energy Facility Siting Council to Meet January 26, 2024
SALEM — The next regularly scheduled meeting of Oregon’s Energy Facility Siting Council will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024. Attendance will be open to the public both in person and virtually using the online Webex platform. The main items on the Council’s agenda include:
Consideration by Council of Permanent Amended Rules for Standby Generator Exemptions (Action Item) – Thomas Jackman, Rules Coordinator, will present for consideration by Council permanent amended rules regarding exemptions from Council jurisdiction for would-be standby generator operators.
2024 Recommended Rulemaking Schedule (Action Item & Information Item) –
1) Thomas Jackman, Rules Coordinator will present the proposed 2024 Rulemaking Schedule which will include the following for each proposed rulemaking: a summary; recommendations for how to obtain public input; and a draft schedule.
2) Council will allow members of the public an opportunity to provide oral comment related to it rulemaking priorities for 2024.
3) Council will provide direction to the Department of its rulemaking priorities for 2024.
Council Review/Decision on Amended Mitigation Plans (Action Item & Information Item) – Sarah Esterson, Senior Policy Advisor, will present Council with the issues and proposed resolutions for mitigation plans required under Site Certificates of Wheatridge Renewable Energy Facility, Wheatridge Renewable Energy Facility II, Shepherds Flat Central, and Biglow Canyon Wind Farm. Council may approve, modify, or reject the proposed changes to the mitigation plans.
