ODOE to Host Offshore Wind Power Webinar on January 22

SALEM — The Oregon Department of Energy will host a webinar on the basics of offshore wind power on January 22 from 2-3 p.m. The intended audience for this webinar is decision-makers, energy industry practitioners, utilities and people with a renewable energy background.
The webinar will feature two presentations:
- Bruce Hamilton will offer a summary of the U.S. Department of Energy’s 2014 Offshore Wind Market and Economic Analysis Report. His presentation will discuss the state of the offshore wind sector internationally and in the Atlantic, policy developments and a recent economic impact case study.
- Chris Elkinton will present an overview of offshore wind technologies, including turbines, anchoring and mooring, power cabling and the development trajectory for deep-water floating wind.
