Next week, the Oregon Department of Energy will host a series of public informational meetings with Idaho Power Company about its proposed Boardman to Hemingway Transmission Line.
The proposed 500-kilovolt transmission line would extend about 300 miles from a proposed Longhorn Substation in Boardman to the existing Hemingway Substation in southwestern Idaho. Idaho Power Company may request approval from Oregon’s Energy Facility Siting Council for the line’s route segments, which must meet applicable EFSC standards, rules, and ordinances.
The informational meetings will provide attendees with details about the proposed transmission line and the EFSC review process. The meetings will include a presentation starting at 5:30 p.m., followed by an open house. Informational meetings in Umatilla and Morrow counties will both be held on Thursday evening, October 18; the format, presentation, and content of the meetings will be the same.
