ODOE Updates Oregon Energy Security Plan

September is National Preparedness Month, which means there’s no better time for the Oregon Department of Energy to publish an updated Oregon Energy Security Plan. Originally published in 2024, the plan outlines the state’s energy infrastructure, quantifies threats and hazards that cause energy insecurity, and identifies potential measures the state and its partners can implement to manage risk and strengthen Oregon’s energy security.

ODOE Publishes Draft Oregon Energy Security Plan

The Oregon Department of Energy is working on a new Energy Security Plan for the state that will identify risks to our electricity, liquid fuel, and natural gas/propane systems — and propose ways to mitigate those risks. ODOE published a draft version of the plan on September 30, and will kick off a public engagement effort to hear from Oregonians on October 16.
