In White City, Rogue Disposal & Recycling is walking the talk when it comes to sustainability. The company joined ODOE’s Grounded podcast in 2018 to share how it’s already collecting gas from its landfill to produce electricity. On the horizon? Turning that gas into renewable natural gas, which could power the trucks that collect the garbage.

While Jackson County doesn’t have state-jurisdictional energy-generating facilities, the 137-mile, 500-kilovolt Eugene to Medford Transmission Line does run through the county.
