Two utility-scale solar facilities have been proposed for Lake County. The Obsidian Solar Center would be a 400-megawatt facility, while the Blue Marmot Solar Energy Facility would produce about 60 megawatts. The county is no stranger to solar installations — the 5-megawatt Outback Solar Project installed in Christmas Valley in 2012 was the first utility-scale solar project in Bonneville Power Administration territory.
